Kanchanaburi, Thailand

It was about a two and a half hour drive to Kanchanaburi where we stopped and made a visit to the allied War Cemetry there. We had bought 100 red roses in the flower market earlier to lay at the memorial.

We visited the ‘Jeath Museum’ in Kanchanaburi which was quite enlightening. There were many reports, photos and press cuttings about what exactly went on here during the war. We then boarded a long tailed boat for a quick ten minute ride to the Bridge.

We disembarked here and waited for the train that would take us over the bridge and on towards the Burmese border.
