San Francisco - California

Day 2 Friday morning dawned with it absolutely chucking it down. Left yvonne in bed whilst I made my way on foot to the Airport to collect our car. I was pretty damp by the time I got there, a distance of about two miles.

Because there was going to be no fun in getting in and out of a car all day when it is raining the only option was for a circular tour of the Bay area. We crossed the Golden Gate bridge and drove as far as Muir woods, then returned over the bridge, through San Francisco to the Bay Bridge which crosses over to Oakland. We returned from the other side of the bay via the San Matteo bridge. We managed to find a nice restaurant for our evening meal and then returned to the hotel, hoping that the weather would improve next day.

Day 3 What a difference a day makes. Fantastic sunny day - the weather from today till the end of the holiday was to be just fantastic. Now was the time to do the tourist bit, cameras at the ready we first went to the Golden Gate bridge again, this time it was so much more enjoyable, although trying to find a parking space near the bridge was not easy.
