San Francisco & Fisherman’s Wharf

We made our way to Fishermans Wharf and found out that car parking charges were like london.. $2 for every thirty minutes. We parked in an underground park right on the front and walked along to the wharf. What can I say, very commercial, very pretty, very expensive. Could not get a boat to Alcatraz because they were all fully booked at least three days ahead. Never mind though, the view of the island was pretty good from the wharf. Looking at the relevant short distance between the island and the mainland does make you wonder if it were possible to swim across. They talk of very strong currents and sharks, so I suppose it might just be a bit difficult.
